About Me

Ramond Nicolas,

Professional cutler, aged 28, graduate of the Thiers Cutlery School. My unique journey has led me to explore two of the most renowned cities in the cutlery field: Thiers and Laguiole.

Trained alternately in Laguiole, I had the privilege to experience the authenticity of these two cradles of French cutlery. My passion for history harmoniously merges with my profession, thereby creating unique pieces rich in history.

The Legend of Coulobre

Throughout history, humans have invented beliefs and superstitions to confront their fears. Thus was born on the banks of the Dordogne, out of fear of shipwrecks on the tumultuous river, the legend of the Coulobre, the serpent in Occitan.

Winged dragon with a serpent's body and clawed legs, it fed on unfortunate boatmen after sinking their boats, or on young and imprudent washerwomen. According to legend, the Coulobre was defeated by Saint Front near Lalinde (24). There is also a legend of the Coulobre in Fontaine de Vaucluse...

"If the Coulobre no longer haunts the Dordogne il revit chaque année le 1er week-end de juillet lors de la grande fête it comes back to life every year on the first weekend of July during the big festival 'Tous sur le Pont' in Argentat. We dress up, we dance, we eat on the bridge, and above all, we challenge the Coulobre aboard custom-made rafts with their crazy crews! Guaranteed atmosphere.
